Living healthy is a learning process and there are so many tools out there to help along the way. It’s my mission to make wellness as simple and accessible as possible. That’s why I love sharing my favorite resources with you each and every month!
This month I’m sharing four amazing resources to keep you healthy and strong, provide an extra dose of super nutrients, keep your home toxin-free, ease anxiety and reduce stress. As always, these are things that I personally use, believe in, and love.
Here’s what I’m loving lately…
Beetroot powder is a fantastic superfood powder that I love including in my recipes! Especially my smoothies. Superfood powders are incredibly potent. One little teaspoon of beetroot powder is actually equivalent to eating one large beet! While it’s still important to consume whole veggies and fruits for fiber purposes, the powder form allows you to add TONS of additional nutrients and antioxidants on top of the whole foods you already eat in your diet.
Beetroot powder in particular is a great superfood powder because of the betalain, which gives beets their red/purple pigment! Betalain helps cell turnover which is essential for gut healing. We want to renew those cells along the gut lining! Beets are also rich in nitrates which support blood flow and heart health. I trust this Sunfood Beetroot Powder because it’s 100% organic beetroot powder without any fillers or additives!
It’s candle season! As we reach the end of September, the nights start to feel a little cozier. And the perfect way to set a cozy ambiance is to light a scented candle. The problem with this is that most candles you’ll find in places like the sale aisle at Marshall’s are chock full of toxins such as paraffin. And since we tend to light them in small enclosed spaces with windows closed, we inhale these chemicals in high amounts.
A healthier alternative is to use pure essential oils or burn beeswax candles. Beeswax burns slower and cleaner than paraffin. I love the candles from Natural Sloth for this reason. They’re hand poured and made from organic beeswax and pure essential oils. They even have a wooden wick which extends the burn time and safety! The company recently came out with their Fall collection which has scents that are absolutely dreamy for this time of year. They smell SO good and are so comforting! I even love their hand soap and room spray too if you are looking for a clean option for that as well.
I’ve been needing a lot of extra support in getting comfortable lately because I’m now in the late stages of my pregnancy! I love using a weighted blanket because it provides the perfect amount of gentle pressure. It’s so comforting and feels like a hug!
I loved using weighted blankets way before I was pregnant as well. They’re great at reducing stress and anxiety and promoting restful sleep. The pressure reduces cortisol (a stress hormone) and increases melatonin (a sleep hormone), and serotonin (a happy hormone). I love Mosaic brand weighted blankets because they’re made with hypoallergenic BPA free pellets and they’re really well made, which means they’ll last a long time! If you’ve been feeling a little more stressed or anxious than usual or having trouble falling asleep, I highly recommend you try one out!
The protein powder options out there are endless! It can get a bit overwhelming. You might even question if protein powder is necessary… Although some forms of protein powder can be hard on the digestive system, there are protein powder options that actually heal the gut lining, provide essential vitamins and minerals, reduce inflammation, and boost the immune system.
I love adding quality protein powder to my morning smoothies and to yummy baked goods. You’ll want to look for purity, quality, and minimal ingredients when it comes to choosing the best option!
