I can’t wait for you to try these new Pineapple Salmon Kebobs! They incorporate delicious summertime flavors like juicy pineapple, fresh fish, flavorful ginger, and refreshing lemon juice.
Plus, all of the ingredients work together to nourish your gut microbiome, reduce inflammation, encourage digestion, and detoxify your body.
It’s super tasty AND healthy— a winning combination if you ask me!
Here’s a quick little breakdown of what some of these ingredients can do for your gut health:
Wild-Caught Salmon
Salmon is perfect for the gut because it’s rich with omega-3 fatty acids. Omega-3’s promote healthier gut bacteria, lower inflammation levels, aid in weight loss, and actually increase energy by balancing our omega-6 ratio. Your body doesn’t produce these essential fatty acids on its own so we need them from the food we eat!
I always suggest choosing a high quality brand that is sustainably harvested and wild caught. Sizzlefishis my favorite online delivery service for high quality seafood, especially salmon!
Pineapple
Pineapple is really helpful for the gut because it has an enzyme called bromelain, which supports the digestion and breakdown of proteins. Our bodies make enzymes, which help to break down food and improve digestion.
These enzymes decrease naturally over time which can cause digestive imbalances. This is why getting enzymes like bromelain through our food is key for the gut microbiome and digestive health.
Another added bonus: Pineapple is rich in antioxidants to support overall health!
Ginger
Ginger is a powerhouse for the gut because it increases prostaglandins, which are hormone-like substances that fight against inflammation. These protect and restore the gut lining, helping to heal leaky gut.
They also allow for better nutrient absorption and activate digestive enzymes in the gut, which promotes healthy digestion!
This new summer salmon kebob recipe is not only delicious, but super healing and nourishing for your gut microbiome!

"When it comes to balancing our body, healing the gut, reversing autoimmunity, and achieving optimal health—we are a lot like a car that won’t run right. In order to fix the problem once and for all instead of relying on jumper cables, we must get underneath the hood, run the diagnostics, and replace the battery so that it runs good as new."
