Recently a group of ladies in my reset and reboot program completely shocked me this week when they started raving about a simple avocado probiotic “toast” I shared on their meal plan. 

I was shocked because there is nothing special to it at all, except for the fact that it has live probiotics that give it some superpowers. It’s also a fun spin on your traditional avocado toast which is perfect for anyone trying to improve gut health and autoimmunity. 

I wanted to share this easy Probiotic Avocado Toast recipe with you too so you can add it to your recipe collection. 

Apparently it’s all the rage lately! 

All you need is a sweet potato, avocado (or guacamole), and real sauerkraut. The key to this one is to make sure the sweet potato “toast” is a little crispy so it holds similar to toast 👌🏻.

You also want to get sauerkraut that is “live” and fermented from the refrigerator section instead of one you would find on the shelves. My top favorite brands are Clevleand Kraut and Farmhouse Culture. You can find both of these at your local health food store or purchase online.

Gut-Healthy Probiotic Avocado Toast Recipe

2 Sweet Potato (small, ends trimmed, sliced lengthwise)

1 Avocado (peeled and mashed)

1/3 cup Sauerkraut (Farmhouse Culture)

1/4 tsp Sea Salt


1. Pop the sweet potato slices into the toaster and toast two to three times. If you do not have a toaster, set your oven to broil and bake on a lightly greased or avocado oil sprayed sheet for 3 to 6 minutes per side, or until golden brown.

2. Top the sweet potato toasts with mashed avocado and sauerkraut. Season with sea salt. Enjoy!
