Learning to live healthy is a journey and there are so many tools out there to help along the way! I’m here to make wellness as simple and accessible as possible. That’s why I love sharing my favorite resources with you each and every month.
This month I’m sharing five amazing resources to help remove toxins, keep your body fit, ensure your seafood is fresh, and nourish your gut with a surprising treat. As always, these are things that I personally use, believe in, and love.
Here’s what I’m loving lately…
Heavy metals are all around us— in our food, soil, medicine, skincare, cooking tools, drinking water, you name it. These heavy metals can be responsible for chronic health issues like fatigue, brain fog, skin issues, aches and pains, hormonal imbalances, and GI issues. Plus, in the case of gut health and autoimmunity, exposure to heavy metals can trigger serious flare-ups. This is because toxins create gaps in the gut lining, causing leaky gut, food sensitivities, and major digestive issues. This is why eliminating heavy metals is essential to heal!
One of the tools I use in my practice to help detox the body is Toxin Removal Spray (TRS). TRS is a tasteless spray that promotes heavy metal detoxification! This nifty spray contains teeny tiny negatively-charged particles called zeolites that are encapsulated in water clusters. They can travel anywhere in the body where there is water (and remember, your body is actually 60% water!). These zeolites attract positively charged heavy metals and excrete them from your body where most zeolites cannot.
This is CRITICAL as we remove gut infections from the body because gut infections will bind to heavy metals. This is something many of my clients miss when healing the gut. I see huge improvements in leaky gut when my clients work on removing heavy metals and simultaneously healing the gut!
Fish is rich in omega-3 fatty acids, which promote healthy gut bacteria and lower inflammation levels. These good fats actually help clear your arteries rather than clog them. This is why I always recommend eating wild caught salmon at least once a week!
Now, fish is healthy and healing, but don’t forget QUALITY matters! This is why I recommend choosing a high quality brand that is sustainably harvested and wild caught. Sizzlefish is my favorite online delivery service for high quality seafood! Now that the weather is warming up, it’s the perfect time to start perfecting those yummy seafood dishes!
I absolutely love adding gentle, restorative movement to my routine and walking is perfect for this! Walking is actually one of the best forms of movement you can do to help reduce inflammation and restore balance in the body. When healing the gut and reversing autoimmunity, I recommend my clients steer clear of super strenuous exercise as this can increase inflammation during the process.
Aiming for 10,000 steps per day is the perfect amount of movement for your body to feel it’s best! I suggest scheduling breaks during the day to walk around your neighborhood or a nearby park, especially if it’s a sunny day. And in my opinion, an outdoor walk doesn’t feel as daunting as an intense gym session or even a run!
Aiming for 10,000 steps per day is the perfect amount of movement for your body to feel it’s best! For reference, 10,000 steps is 1.5 hours of walking for most people who walk an average of 4 miles per hour. If you’re just starting out with walking consistently, you can start slower with a smaller goal! Maybe aim for 5,000 steps a day and work your way up.
Sleep is so underrated! Quality sleep is essential as our cells regenerate during the deep stages of sleep, which helps us heal! This is why sleep is so crucial to healing the gut. You know how it feels when you don’t get enough sleep! You become irritable, groggy, you get sick more easily, the brain fog takes over, and you crave sugar, carbs, and caffeine in order to boost energy.
Insomnia is so frustrating because even when you know you’re tired, sometimes it can be so hard to actually fall asleep. If you find yourself having trouble catching Z’s, it’s time to get to the root cause and ease your body back into rhythm. Check out the latest blog for 9 natural sleep aids that actually work!
Liver is a nutritional powerhouse and a wonderful source of nutrients like vitamin D, A, B12, selenium, and iron. This is why it’s a game changer for energy, especially for women low in iron. If you are low in iron, I don’t recommend supplementing with pure iron for a long time because it can deplete other vital minerals and create imbalances in the body. I instead suggest incorporating liver into your routine! It’s my #1 food choice to recommend. Liver is a superfood for the gut and immune system as it’s the most concentrated nutrient dense organ meat.
While I love incorporating liver into my diet, many can’t quite stomach it. For this reason, I love these desiccated liver capsules. I often recommend them to clients when they’re having trouble including liver in their meals but have low storage iron (called ferritin). This is a game changer for optimal thyroid health, energy, hormones, and overall wellness. These Perfect brand capsules include grass-fed, undefatted beef liver in its purest form. Plus they have proof of purity with transparent lab testing for heavy metals!
Being health conscious can be easy and exciting!. I hope these resources bring you joy, comfort, and wellness.

"When it comes to balancing our body, healing the gut, reversing autoimmunity, and achieving optimal health—we are a lot like a car that won’t run right. In order to fix the problem once and for all instead of relying on jumper cables, we must get underneath the hood, run the diagnostics, and replace the battery so that it runs good as new."
