BALANCING MY CIRCADIAN RHYTHM

If you notice you start to feel a bit down in the dumps during the winter months, know you’re not alone. Right around this time, I tend to feel it too. The winter blues are no joke! To combat seasonal depression, I do my best to keep my circadian rhythm as balanced as possible. It’s crucial for my mental health to follow a routine sleep schedule. I suggest going to bed around the same time every night and waking up at the same time every morning. Ideally, our bodies respond best when we go to bed at 10pm and wake at 6am. This helps regulate your circadian rhythm, which will in turn regulate your serotonin and melatonin levels.

TART CHERRY JUICE 

Drinking tart cherry juice before bed can help you fall asleep and stay asleep! Cherries are a rich source of tryptophan, a precursor to melatonin. I recommend consuming around 7-8pm because you start melatonin production around 9pm. Also, I suggest opting for organic with no added sugars!
