We’re finally in the heat of summer and if you’re on the East coast like me, you know we’re sweatin’ out here!

When the summer sun just won’t let up, it always makes me crave one of my childhood favorites— popsicles!!!

A yummy popsicle after a long day at the beach, pool, or just hanging in the backyard, is so refreshing. It makes me think of the good old days in my neighborhood, running after the ice cream man. (My favorite order was the cotton candy popsicle— it’s the best one!)

The other day was a particularly hot one. And so in typical fashion, the craving for a sweet refreshing snack came on. I thought to myself— why not just make my own popsicles for summer?!

I ended up making a really successful batch that I had to share with you! I went for green tea lemonade popsicles. Soooo yummy!

I’m sure I don’t have to tell you twice that most store bought popsicles are loaded with added sugars and fillers that aren’t great for your gut. What’s wonderful about homemade ones is they’re incredibly easy to make and there are so many flavor options! The popsicle opportunities are endless!

I decided on green tea lemonade because it has the refreshment factor that’s reminiscent of a midsummer lemonade stand, but it’s not overwhelmingly sweet.

I also wanted to make a popsicle that’s not only “not particularly bad for you,” but one that actually has healing properties! Green tea is abundant with antioxidants, contains essential amino acids like L-theanine, and is high in beneficial polyphenols! It’s so soothing for the gut and gives your immune system a boost!

If the summer heat has got you sweating too, I encourage you to try out these Green Tea Lemonade Popsicles for summer!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups Green Tea (brewed)
  • 1 tbsp Raw Honey
  • 1/4 Lemon (zested and juiced)

Instructions

  1. If you haven’t yet, brew your green tea. Add honey and lemon juice. Mix well and place in the fridge until chilled.
  2. Once chilled, pour into 3 oz paper cups. Sprinkle a pinch of lemon zest into each cup.
  3. Freeze for 45 to 60 minutes or until partially frozen. Insert popsicle sticks. If sticks aren’t staying, freeze for additional 15 minutes and try again.
  4. Place in freezer for 4 hours or until completely frozen. Enjoy!

My favorite tea to use in this Green Tea Lemonade Popsicle recipe is the Pique Pu’er Green Tea! It has great flavor, probiotics, prebiotics, concentrated antioxidants, AND is triple toxin screened! It’s the best out there!

These popsicles are the perfect summer sweet treat. Plus, if you have kids, they’re a great snack for them too! Prevents that energy spike and crash that parents know so well…

"When it comes to balancing our body, healing the gut, reversing autoimmunity, and achieving optimal health—we are a lot like a car that won’t run right. In order to fix the problem once and for all instead of relying on jumper cables, we must get underneath the hood, run the diagnostics, and replace the battery so that it runs good as new."
